Beginner’s Guide to Crochet Flowers for Paper Crafts, Cards, Scrapbooking

A year ago I got “the bug” to learn how to make crochet flowers. I really wanted to use them on my paper crafting projects! Looking back over my 1st year now I’m doing an introduction video for paper crafters who want to make crochet flowers just for paper crafts. And don’t already know how to crochet! lol My suggestions: Youtube – Theresa (Art of Crochet) and Mikeysmail – he just put up a brand new line of beginner videos! Library – children’s section, search for crochet. Easy projects, lots of pictures! lol Next trip to Wal Mart buy: Size C (or D) Crochet hook – .30 Size 3 white crochet thread (not embroidery!) – Needle point needles – .50 Use a bag you own to be your “embroidery” bag. The library also has flower crochet books – get on the waiting list! lol In the adult section.

    Wow Lisa,
    These are beautiful flowers! I love the dark purple & those big white ones are lovely. You were one busy lady, thank goodness for long flights! LOL! Great idea in finding books for kids on crocheting, brilliant. TFS…

    @Stephaniewatercolour I do like the daisy! lol
    The next video I do will be to show the books I have. Don’t know if they are best, but they are all I know. The daisy recipe is in there. Then I’ll do the daisy for the 2nd flower :) Thanks for watching!! I hope lots of people make them and share recipes – the books are costly and limiting (aren’t geared to paper crafts).

    @racken00 Hi Eva!
    I can’t remember which book I liked best. I checked out what I could. But 1 of them was Crochet: fantastic jewerly, hats, purses pillows & more by Jane Davis
    I don’t see the other one I had – they have new books now. Kids Crochet by Kelli Ronci looks pretty good :)

    Lisa, I so want to learn how to crochet. Do you by chance have the title of the book from the library? And I really like all your flowers. From what I can see the daisy one look cute! Thank you for sharing and letting me know what to get to get started:)
